A bunch of useless crap

I had written earlier that I thought my back problem was starting to improve. So much for that.

I got up few minutes to ago to go to the bathroom. No biggie right? I hoisted myself up, using the chair back and the desk to support myself to stand up, and started for the bathroom. I took a single step and my left leg decided that it would be a good time to take a break. The leg buckled and I went down. Hard. My head had an interesting meeting with the dresser.

It took a bit of crawling and grabbing and cussing to get myself back on my feet. I'm embarrassed to say that I pissed myself during the fall.

I just got out of the shower. I have a nice little cut on my forehead from my meeting with the dresser.

This shit sucks big time.

Ow, mate, I'm pleased you didn't do yourself any worse damage (to your head, I mean). You really are going through the walls of late, poor bugger. Hope this week only improves for you.

Thanks. As long as I just hurt my head I'm in good shape. It's not like I use it anyway.

Did you hurt your back further? I guess I'm retarded and don't get it.

Ouch, man! I hope you get to feeling better. This is painful just to READ!

What's not to get?

It didn't do my back any favors.

Thanks Gid. I'm starting to get a tad concerned that maybe the whole back thing might be a little worse than I thought. I've noticed that my legs occassionally don't want to do what I want them to do.

All right. I apologize. You weren't specific.

I hope you're on your way to well soon.

When assessing for nerve damage on physical examination, a competent physician would check for the adequacy and symmetry of knee and ankle reflexes, check to see that a straight leg raise to 90 degrees was possible and then check for "saddle" (crotch) numbness. An MRI would be ordered if the patient failed any of those tests to further check for nerve damage and determine the need for surgery.

---------just for your info cuz I know your concerned.

on the other hand, it could still all be muscular.

Sorry for this setback.

OK... GO TO THE DR... OK? You seem to be taking one step forward, and 3 back... I realize a cut on the head isn't that big a deal.. except withyour leg giving out, and falling.. your back may need something besides pain meds & muscle relaxers! Gently bear hugs

Yeah, they did check the reflexes and did the whole press the foot against the hand thing and all that. The thing that really hurt (and pissed me off) was raising and moving my legs around while I was laying down. That hurt like hell.

I suspect that's why they're talking MRI. I'm not happy about all that. Been there, done that, not wanting to go there again.

If it makes you feel any better, you did a great bit of writing about the incident. Very much like I would have done it. And I'm awesome.

Don't let the setbacks get you down, and get well soon.

Ouch!  Sorry about the setback.  Maybe that is just a temporary lapse.  Hopefully.
