One of the reasons i accepted this load into the NE part of the country was because it didn't need to be tarped as my other choice did. Also because the time frame was a bit more relaxed.
Yeah, right.
It was discovered that the generator going to NJ that was only supposed to be 77" tall was in fact 100" tall, making it too tall to legally fit on my upper deck. Ah well, I didn't wanna go to NJ anyway. Unfortunately the only other piece we have going in that general direction is a large industrial saw destined for Bridgeport, CT. Naturally it needs to be tarped. Damn.
As the saw was still sitting inside the building to protect it from the nasty weather it was a bit better to get a tarp on it than outside in the wind and blowing snow. But it still sucked. I managed to get a big tarp over it (of course it's too damn big for a nice, easy to work with smaller tarp), and am waiting for "D" to return from his run to the bank to finish loading my trailer so I can secure everything and be on my way.
The changes caused enough of a delay that my nice easy schedule have evaporated and I'm going to have to run harder than I wanted in order to make the first crane appointment for Monday morning at 7:30 Eastern time. And of course the place isn't open today for me to get nice directions to the place. As it's a school it shouldn't be too hard to find. I pulled up the address on my computer and it sits right on the main highway through the little town so hopefully I'll be able to get to it easily enough. I just hate not making contact and confirming the location in advance.
Hopefully he'll be back soon and I get loaded and out of here. I am curious to see how this is going to fit on my deck as the one generator that's already loaded is huge and takes up most of the lower well. The other generator looks to be about the same size and I just can't see how it's going to fit along with the mufflers and skid of misc parts that goes along with this load. The saw will take up all of the top deck.
I just know that I didn't get up early just to sit around here all day.
