A bunch of useless crap
Published on February 18, 2007 By MasonM In Blogging
I just finished knitting the second sock of my very first pair of hand knitted socks. Once the second sock was finished I was pleasantly surprised to see that it is exactly the same size as the first one. I was really expecting that I would somehow screw it up and wind up with two different size socks.

They may not be anything really fancy or anything, but as my first attempt at socks and only my second knitting project, I'm pretty damn pleased with myself.

I don't think I have any needles that small anyway.

LOL

great looking pair of socks! cool color, warm, what more could one desire?

I'd ask ya to knit me a muffler, however they don't make needles that big!

Thanks. The second went quicker for a couple of reasons. Firstly, after already having done one I sort of knew what I was doing on the second one so didn't have to keep reading the instructions several times to make sure I understood what to do.

And secondly, I've discovered that Magic Loop is much faster than using 4 DPNs. I'll likely do all of my socks that way from now on. I just started another one using sport weight cotton yarn and size 4 circular using Magic Loop technique. It's cast on but as of yet I haven't knit the first stitch yet due to work interrupting my knitting time.
