A bunch of useless crap

I went to bed pretty early last night. I think it was around 8:30 give or take a little. When I woke this morning the light from the skylight in the ceiling told me that the sun was up so I knew it wasn't too terribly early. That meant that I had probably slept for 10 or 11 hours. I needed it.

I threw back my electric blanket, stumbled out of bed, was greeted by chilly air and a very stiff back, stretched as best I could, and went about starting my morning. The glow from the skylights was really my only indication of the time of day as I don't have any clocks in my house except for the one on my computer which was still sleeping soundly.

I put on the coffee, that glorious morning elixer that starts my heart to beating on chilly mornings such as this. I fired up the computer. Once it went through it's boot up routine I logged in to the command line and entered the command that starts the graphical desktop environment. The clock displayed today's day and date and the time 7:30 am. Yep, pretty much the time I thought it probably was based upon the amount of light coming from above.

My feet were cold. I know I have a pair of house slippers around here some place. I rummage around a bit looking for them. After a few minutes I locate them under the couch. Of course, where else would they be? I slip them on my feet. Much better now.

By now the coffee is finished so I pour myself a cup. mmmmmmm that first cup of java is always the best, especially on a chilly morning like this. While sipping that first cup I finally peek out the blinds to see what sort of day this is looking to be. A few clouds but mostly blue. Good. Yesterday was rainy, it looks like today may be a bit better. The weather man just said something about 60 degrees, but I didn't catch if that was going to be today or later this week. I guess I'll have to check the weather website.

I packed the ibuprofen when I left the truck. I could use them about now. I just have to remember exactly where I packed them. Laptop bag? Nope. Duffle bag? Nope. Knitting bag? Bingo! Now why did I put them in there? No matter, just take a few hundred mg and be happy you found them.

Mom called to ask where my clothes hangers are. This is like a bad Abbott and Costello routine as we do it every time I come home. For some reason I always forget to take the empty hangers out of the truck and have to make a trip back out to where the truck is parked to get them and drop them off at her place. One of these days I'm going to surprise us both and actually remember to grab them the first time.

Looking at the weather map on the idiot box and I'm damn glad I am back home in Florida. It may be chilly but at least it isn't the single digits they're seeing up at the yard. brrrrr

I have a very busy schedule filled with doing nothing today. I best get to it.
