I made it to the yard this morning, dropped my trailer and pulled all of my chains and straps off the load. I traded tarps with the driver who will be delivering the one tarped generator to save me having to pull mine and him having to retarp it. Seemed like a good idea to the both of us.
I am now just hanging around in the shop waiting for the mechanics to do the repairs needed to the truck and the generator. We got lucky on the windshield in that the dealer had one in stock. It should arrive soon.
I'll likely be here over night, which is fine with me. I already spoke with "R" about a load home and he said that shouldn't be a problem. I've keyed in all of my paperwork while sitting here and only need to print it out and turn it in. As my printer is in the truck that'll have to wait until after the repairs are finished.
While I remembered to grab my receipts and laptop to do my paperwork, now that I've completed all of that I realize that I forgot to grab my knitting bag. I had intended to get some knitting done while killing time here but it's too late now. The mechanics get a little cranky if we go out into the shop to get anything out of the truck while they are working on it. So I'm just sitting here using the internet and shooting the bull with other drivers and the mechanics as they wander in and out of the break room.
While I am looking forward to heading home, I'm in no big hurry to leave today. I'm a little tired and sore, and just want to rest and maybe suck down a couple of brews this evening.
