I had to do some hard running today. I had a lot of miles to cover (about 12 hours worth) and needed to beat the next wave of ice that was coming across. I started early this morning, stopping only once to grab a quick bite of breakfast, and kept after it steady all day. It was a hard push but I stayed ahead of the ice and made it up into WI. I'm about 15 or 20 minutes from my delivery scheduled for 6:30 tomorrow morning.
While stopped for breakfast I noticed that the truckstop had heated massaging seat cushions on sale. I bought one. Well worth the forty bucks. I strapped it to my seat and plugged it into the cigarette lighter outlet. The heat felt great on my back and hip, and the massaging action had three different speeds and zones. Upper back, lower back, and thighs. It really helped on the long drive.
I'm too tired to bother cooking anything (well, microwave anything) and don't feel like sitting in the diner, so dinner tonight is a bottle of Gatorade and a Hostess chocolate cupcake.
As I have to deliver so early in the morning I'm gonna kick back and get some rest. I really hate getting up that damn early, but sometimes ya just gotta do it. I figure I'll get up at 5:00 so I have time to suck down a few cups of coffee before making the delivery.
It's snowing here, but that's still worlds better than that damn ice. My new cane is already seeing action. I always use one when the ground is slick as the bum hip makes walking on slick surfaces very tricky. My balance ain't what it used to be. Come to think of it, my everything ain't what it used to be.
