A bunch of useless crap

Last night I had enough beers to relax but not enough to actually get drunk. I slept well and this morning the pain in my hip and back has subsided a great deal. I'm still hurting but it's not nearly as intense as the past couple of days. Maybe I can get the doc to write me a prescription for beer, that way I can write it off my taxes. A restful night's sleep can work wonders.

I've stopped in Sullivan, MO long enough for breakfast, and then I'm off again. Dispatch had made a slight error on the first TX stop. They had thought it was near Dallas but upon checking I discovered that it's actually near Wichita Falls, on the TX side of the line. I'm glad I am in the habit of running my stops on the computer to determine the most efficient ordering for the stops as that slight geographic difference totally changes the route I take. Actually I'm glad it worked out this way as I don't have to run through AR which has very strict speed enforcement and very high fines for trucks. I don't run all that fast anyway, but why risk a fine of several hundred dollars for going 1 mph over the speed limit?

It's a beautiful day, the sun is shining, and it should make for a pleasant journey. And as long as there is no threat of rain I don't need to worry about tarping the load and getting my hip fired up again.

I want to get down to the area of my first stop as early as possible this evening so as to have a bit of time for some knitting. I only did a single row last night as I just didn't feel up to sitting up and knitting. Laying down was the best thing for me last night and it's paid off today in greatly reduced pain and increased comfort.

Tine to hit the road again.

That's funny! I think that doctor would be the most popular one!! At least you're not in such intense pain and that's good!

Yeah, the doc would be the most popular guy in town.

Wife: Why are you drinking?

Husband: Doctor's orders.
