A bunch of useless crap

My mother was wanting some extra phone lines run in her place. The phone company charges $125/hour to do that kind of work so I went over after lunch and wired them for her. It only took about an hour and a half to get the wiring run and everything connected and working, but if the phone company had done it I'm sure it would have run her at least $250 which is absurd.

Now she has her extra phones, is happy, and she saved some money in the process.

Sadly my hip didn't really enjoy all that crawling around and working down on my knees and is protesting rather vigorously. Ah well, small price to pay to help out me mum.

My parents' phone line was giving them trouble. When the guy came out to fix it my father asked him if he could add a line in a bedroom. The guy said it would cost an extra $85 for him to do it. What a ripoff.

Too bad you didn't charge her, you could have had extra cash for yarn.

Nah, I couldn't charge my mom for that. Besides, she has a huge yarn stash I can raid if I want

Being a mom with a son that has helped,  I can tell you it's a blessing!  It feels wonderful to have someone care enough to do that for you.

Bless you Mason,  and Happy New Year!
