A bunch of useless crap

Wrecks everywhere today. The weather in Florida is terrible and the traffic reflected that fact. There was a wreck every few miles. As I passed through the Lake City area I had to dodge tin roofing and tree limbs in the highway. A tornado or very high straight line winds had destroyed some buildings near the interstate and had blown the debris into the roadway.

It was interesting driving to say the least. But I did finally make it home in time to have Christmas dinner with Mom and Frank.

There was a package waiting for me when I got home. It was from my secret Santa on the shaving board on which I am no longer posting. We had done a secret Santa thing just a couple of weeks before I had resigned from the board. When I looked at the package it nearly broke my heart as it was addressed to myself and Socrates.

Inside were some nice shaving soaps and a bag of kitty treats. *sigh* He meant well.

Now I'm settled in at home relaxing a bit after the long, hazardous drive. Once I catch my breath I need to go down to the C-store and pick up some Gatorade and maybe some beer.

I imagine that hurt like hell to see those kitty treats!  Sorry for the pain that caused

maybe a neighbor ?  has a cat that could use them?

Yeah, it did.

I told Mom to give them to her dogs. It's not like it would hurt them.

I'm glad you made it home safely. Yeah, there were some really wild weather today. Lots of homes and other places got upturned by a tornado and it's been raining all day.

I know it still hurts from missing Socrates. I do hope one day you will have another pet, you'e such a good 'master'.

Thanks, it was a pretty hairy drive at times today. A few close calls.

Yeah, it's only been a week and I still haven't got used to him not being here. I keep finding myself expecting him to jump up on me or be where he would normally be and it's a shock when it doesn't happen. When I got home today I was greeted by the sight of his food dishes, which sit next to the door and felt a stab of pain and guilt. His toys are still on the floor where he left them.

I don't think I want another companion animal. They deserve better.
