A bunch of useless crap

I'm sitting at a generator factory in Oshkosh waiting for my turn to load. I am picking up two generators heading for Florida. With any luck I should be at home some time on Christmas Eve.

I know that I-294 around the Chicago area is going to be jammed with traffic later today so I am planning on going the long way around by cutting West over to I-39 and running South from there. I can then run across I-74 into Indiana. While it's a good deal farther it should actually save me some time sitting in a huge back up in the Chicago area.

Traffic is going to be bad this weekend to be sure, but avoiding Chicago will help a little. I don't expect to be able to make good time on the way down due to all of the holiday travelers, but at least I have a load that should get me home for Christmas.

I'll probably arrange to make the two deliveries on Friday of next week. I'll give the people a call once I am loaded.

It's still cold and raining even harder today than yesterday so I expect I'll be soaked and cold again shortly. I'm wearing my rain suit but after a while even that doesn't help all that much when it's this cold and wet out. Ah well, I'll stop down the road this evening and get a nice hot shower to chase the chill from my bones.

Yay!  Glad to hear that you should be able to be home for Christmas!  Sorry to hear that the weather has been so bad, though.

Ah, cold is bad but cold and wet is the worst. Try to stay as toasty as possible. And I'm glad to hear you won't be on the road at Christmas.

Thanks. Yeah, the weather really sucks but could always be worse.

Yep. Sucks.

Yeah...hope you make it home without incident. There are some crazy people out there who seem to have forgotten that it is raining! Drive safe! I'm glad you'll be home for Christmas!

No kidding. These people are driving like complete idiots. I'm parked for the night at the WI/IL line. I'll let the initial surge of morons go on down the road and I'll get a fresh start in the morning.
