I normally use a small travel optical mouse with my laptop because I don't like touchpads all that much. It's a nice little scroll wheel mouse with a retractable cord and is a pretty handy size for carrying in the laptop case.
When I went to bed last night I had left the mouse plugged into the laptop. When I got up this morning I discovered that Socrates has chewed through the cord at some point during the night. Damn cat.
As I needed to make a run to Wally World anyway, I picked up a new travel mouse. I found a nice little Targus wireless laser mouse for a reasonable price. It uses rechargeable batteries and charges from the USB port. No more cord to fiddle with. I hooked it up and tested it in both Windows and Linux and it works beautifully.
While at Wally World I also picked up a few more pairs of warm, heavy socks. Can't have too many pairs of warm socks this time of year.
While I was more than a little irritated at that damn cat for chewing up my mouse cord, in a way he did me a favor as it forced me to buy a better one.
Tomorrow I need to have the shop take a look at the generator on my truck. I had tried to run it yesterday and it didn't want to run. It was chugging slowly and kept cutting off. At first I thought it was just cold and would warm up, but no go. I think maybe it's fuel filter clogged. I definitely need it this time of year to keep warm when parked. Idling the truck all night is a major waste of fuel.
Hopefully it'll be something simple like the fuel filter.
I'm going to just hang out here at the hotel today and relax. I really don't have anything pressing to be done and can just chill in front of the boob tube. Now I just have to decide what I want for lunch.
