A bunch of useless crap

I'm parked for the night in GA. I'm about 14 hours or so from the yard in WI and should make it there by noon on Saturday weather permitting. It's still a nice comfortably warm temperature but I see the cold front is rapidly making it's way across the country. I'll dress warmer in the morning.

When I called dispatch from the port to let them I know I was loaded, she wistfully asked me what the weather was like there. I casually said that I had the a/c running as it was in the 80s. She audibly sighed and said it was 19 degrees there right now and asked me if I was really sure I wanted to come back up there.

When I stopped here I came back into the sleeper to refill Socrates' food dish only to discover that he had found the brand new bag of food and had torn a nice big hole in (at the bottom of course) and had managed to spill 3/4 of it's contents out on my bed. grrrrrrrrr It took me 10 minutes to get it all back into the bag and vacuum my bed. I had filled his bowl when we first got back in the truck this morning. Damn cat.

He knew I was pissed too and ran up front to hide. I guess he thought I couldn't yell at him if I couldn't see him.

He was wrong.

I've had my dinner, Socrates has had dinner in bed (damn cat), and now I'm going to settle in and watch a DVD. I'm hoping to get an early start in the morning to make as much time as possible. With the storm front passing across my route I'm hoping the roads will be cleared by the time I get up there but want to quickly cover as much ground as I can just in case the roads are in less than ideal 70 mph running condition. The steel I have on is only a tad over 11 tons so it doesn't really help a whole lot in giving my drive wheels extra traction. Winter weather is when you hope for nice heavy loads.

Oh yeah...damn cat.

Oh boy,  you're headed into a freezer!  We dropped from 45 degrees day before yesterday down single digits!!

Of course it could be worse,  we could be getting that snow that Milwaukee and Chicago are getting! 10-20 inches!

Welcome to Wisconsin Mason, like Trudy said, we are supposed to be waking up to around a foot to a foot and a half of snow.  Oh to be back in Atlanta!! ;~D

If you're going to be in the Sheboygan area at all, Email me and let me know!

Yuck. I'll be going right through Milwaukee as our yard is 30 miles North of there.

Won't be around Sheboygan, but I'll keep it in mind. Thanks.

Guess I should consider myself lucky.  We are going to get the cold, but only mid 40s for highs (lows in the 20s) and no snow.

Yep.

I'm on the back side of the front now and the temperature difference is significant. It's also very windy which is making driving a bear with this light load.

Blizzard conditions in WI. Lovely. I've already hedged my ETA with dispatch, telling them that my arrival tomorrow will greatly depend upon road conditions. A paycheck isn't worth a crash or getting stuck in a dicth on the side of the highway. I told her I'd be taking my time and I'll get there when I get there.

Better safe than sorry is my mantra when it comes to trucking.
