A bunch of useless crap

When I come home from the road the last thing I feel like doing is cleaning house, washing dishes, or doing laundry. I am road weary and just want to rest and relax.

Sadly, the stupid house unreasonably refuses to clean itself and the dishes stubbornly sit there waiting to be washed instead of taking a bit of initiative to do it themselves.

Yes, I am in the process of domestic chores. I don't really get too overboard with it. I do a little, drink a beer and/or have a smoke, and then a little more. Needless to say none of it gets done in a real big hurry. The thing that I can't understand is how the house gets dirty when I am gone. I close the place up, shut off the power and water, and it pretty much sits empty until my return. And it always needs cleaned again even though I cleaned it all before my previous departure.

I think a family of wild pigs must move in as soon as I leave. that's the only possible explanation.

I always clean the bathroom first as I can't abide a dirty bathroom. I did that the first day I was home. I then gradually move through my little hovel, cleaning a little here, a little there, until I finally reach the point that I vacuum the carpets. I always clean top to bottom so the carpets are always last.

And of course there are always the dishes. I really hate doing dishes. I enjoyed the domestic chores, even the dishes, when I first moved into this place after spending a year recuperating in my mother's home. It was a part of having my own place and getting back on my feet again. Now it's just a royal pain in the arse.

I'll have the dishes washed and the kitchen thoroughly cleaned this evening. I wash a little, put some more in the sink to soak, and let the newly washed ones dry. "Why so many dishes to wash when you live alone?" you may rightly ask. Because the dishes have sat unused in the cupboards for a month. Even in the cupboards they are going to collect some dirt and dust. I take them out and wash them.

I have enough dishes to suit one person. It's not like I have a ton of them or anything. And, well, I'll be honest, I didn't feel like doing dishes after dinner last night so I rinsed them and left them in the sink. So I have last night's dishes as well as today's to wash. Not the best thing in the world, but hey, I'm still tired, ya know?

Tomorrow I have to pull out winter Carhart coveralls and take them to the laundrymat to wash them. I'm taking them with me this time as the winter weather is starting and they sure do come in handy. I won't wash them in Mom's machine as they're quite heavy and I need to put them in one of the large industrial sized machines.

Ah well, enough of a break. back to the friggin lazy dishes that won't wash themselves. I also need to start dinner soon. that'll dirty up a few more dishes. Will it never end?

Trust me, there are a few hundred illegals living a block away from me. An illegal maid wouldn't exactly be hard to get I could throw a rock and hit their houses from here.

I'd love to have a maid too!

It never ends,  all this work.  One would think it must be easier for me since I'm not working,  nope.  It doesn't work out that way,  there's two here,  and when I do take care of the dishes,  I miss spots as my left eye still has cataracts and boy oh boy does the "other tenant" here get upset!

Actually when you're on the road,  little leprachuans sneek in and party... that's why things get messed up and dirty!
