A bunch of useless crap

Good Lord I am still stuffed. We ate around noon. Turkey, baked ham, potato salad, yams, green beans, corn, rolls, dressing, deviled eggs, and a bunch of other stuff I can't even recall right now. For three people. Good grief.

Plenty of leftovers, that's for sure.

I ate so much that I didn't even have room for pie. I'll have to get some of that later.

I'm sure everyone else, at least those in the US, are also suffering from overeatingitis right now.

I know why do we do this to ourselves? Now it's time for the afternoon nap. Actually I'm cleaning or supposed to be cleaning but taking a I hate cleaning and I would rather goof on the computer break. Happy Thanksgiving, Mason.

UGH! YES! I'm stuffed to the gills (if I had gills I'd be stuffed to 'em anyway) Full of roast and rolls and gravy and corn caserole and taters...

and I ate pecan pie too! Ahhhhhh....

Heh, here's a redneck thing: I bought a bottle of wine and found I didn't own a corkscrew so I went out to the shop and got a drywall screw, a phillip's screwdriver, and a pair of pliars. WORKED LIKE A CHARM! Now remember that, Mason! You might need to remember that one a these days!

That's not a problem if you buy the screw top wine bottles or even better - wine in a box.

Isn't that one of those required household items?

Clever!

I bought a nice bottle of wine for our meal but none of us felt like drinking it at the time so I saved it for this evening.

I'm not really to hip on wine (isn't that obvious?). I'd much prefered a Guiness stout!

I prefer a good beer or on occasion a good single malt scotch, but I like a nice wine once in a while. Never could stand the cheap stuff though.

We had turkey, green bean casserole, rice stuffing, mashed potatoes, turkey gravy, cranberry sauce, homemade rolls, pumpkin streusel pie (ok, that's still in the oven), and pecan pie.

Unfortunately, I snacked on the stuff I was cooking while I was preparing it and was stuffed before we even started lunch.

Adrian had Coors Light with his Thanksgiving dinner. Hehe. He swears it perfectly complements pecan pie.

Heh.. I had to eat on the ship... had to help cook the meal actuallyh since I'm still cranking.... we had dry turkey, Ham (ham was real good)... Yams that weren't fully cooked, a pumpkin pie that was pre-cooked that was all soggy and crappy, We also did have mashed potatoes (decent) and green bean cassarole (also somewhat decent)... Notice though I don't mention stuffing The lack of a edible Pumpkin Pie dissapointed me big time though =/ I LOVE pumpkin pie...

I worked today.. which sucked... My family is halfway across the country... so is my Wife...

I'm still at least thankful for what I have. I can't deny that.

M-Post, it sounds like the food has really changed a lot since I was in. Or maybe it was because I was on a carrier. We always had really decent food and the Thanksgiving meals were great. They baked the pies right there in the ship's bakery.

I'm glad you had a good meal just the same.
