A bunch of useless crap

Today is the day for Socrates to go in to be neutered. Per the vet's instructions I took up his food at 6:00 PM last evening. He was a tad upset and confused at that. He kept going over to where his food is supposed to be and then looking at me as if to say "Where's my dinner?" He'd had access to food all day but as usual only nibbled. He does most of his eating at night.

As I expected he woke me fairly early this morning, wanting to be fed. Naturally he doesn't understand why there is no food for him. I always keep food in his dish so that he can nibble as he likes. I know the poor little fellow is hungry and confused as to why I am so seriously neglecting him. To be honest I'm a little hungry too, but I won't eat until after I drop him off at the vet. It would be cruel to eat in front of him when he can't have anything.

Yeah, I know he isn't going to starve or anything, but it seems that he doesn't know that. He keeps sniffing around his dish and giving me those "please feed me" looks. Breaks my heart, but it's for his own good. If he feels up to it when I pick him up this afternoon, he'll have all he cares to eat.

They can break your heart with a look.  But it will soon be over and he will be happier.  Just dont let him tell Sally what is going on!  She gets it next week.

Hope things went well today for the little man (and you too).

Thanks. I just got back from dropping him off. As soon as he realized we were at the vet he was less than pleased.

Yeah, he'll get to eat well if he feels like it. I'll stop and pick up some treats on the way to pick him up.

Aww!  The poor little guy is going to think that you hate him...first you take his food away, then you take him to the vet and let them poke him and pinch him!  It's all for his own good, but you just can't explain that to him.  I do know what you mean about them being able to break your heart with a single look, though. Grace and Henry know they can do that to me and use it to their advantage....

Yeah, I'm sure he'll be a bit pissed at me for a couple of days.

Yep, they seem to figure these things out pretty quickly

Cass was a complete mess when I picked her up from the vet. She wouldn't even come out of her carrier when we got home she was so shook up. But by that evening, she was right as rain and starting to be playful again (though very carefully since she was still sore). When they're little they heal fast and forget faster, so he'll be back to his old troublemaking self in no time!

Thanks. I'm sure he'll bounce back after working hard to make me feel guilty for a while.

I just called the vet to check on him. She said that he was wide awake now and looking out the cage door trying to figure out what just happened. I'm sure he's wondering where the hell I am.
