A bunch of useless crap

Yes, yet another Thanksgiving article. Get over it.

Thanksgiving is a day we set aside to give thanks for all of those things for which we are grateful. As such, it's a time to reflect upon the past year and appreciate the things and people we have in our lives. Thinking about last Thanksgiving I am reminded of all of the changes that a year has brought.

This time last year I was still in the process of recuperating from the car wreck that had almost killed me. I still didn't know at that point if I would ever be able to return to trucking.

My mother was still struggling with the after effects of chemo and was unable to prepare a dinner so we ate out.

During the past year my mother's health has improved and I have become physically stronger and returned to work. This year Mom is preparing a traditional Thanksgiving feast.

And of course I have Socrates now.

I have my own home once again, such as it is.

I have all of the fine people at JU who share some small parts of my life and travels and who share parts of their own lives through this amazing technology called internet.

While life is far from perfect I have to say that I'm reasonably content with it at this time.

I'd say i have a full plate of things for which to be thankful.

I would say that your plate is part of my plate.  And I am glad.  I have followed your struggles, and I am thankful that things are working out for you!  One of the things on my plate this thanksgiving along with all the other JU stories that have turned for the better!

May this season be filled with hope and love for you and yours!  And as we feast on that fat tom, let us remember where we have been.  And where we are going.

Peace and prosperity!  To you and your mother.

Amen to everything said! I'm happy for you to be here with us to share your life M and I'm so happy your mom is doing better!

I'm thankful too for JU and the advice and well wishes I've gotten the two years I've been here. I'm thankful for each moment I've experienced and am alive to remember. I'm thankful for my family.

That's a lot of change in one year Mason.

I'm glad your mom is feeling better and tickling your tummy with her cooking.

My sons swear I am the best cook ever. Gotta love those boys.

Yep, it's been a heckuva year, and thanks.

Boys always love their mom's cooking the best don't they?
