A bunch of useless crap

I have always considered myself to be a gentleman, although I am very much in touch with the nitty gritty of the real world. I am not one of those people who presents a false persona online. I am who I am, warts and all. It seems that in some online communities this sort of real world honesty just doesn't quite fly.

Tonight I received a PM from a moderator there telling me that a post I made wasn't acceptable and a member had complained about it. It was a post in their "off topic" sub-forum and was in no way offensive although it was real world.

Naturally I deleted the post, but being as this has not been the first time I have been told that a post I made there was "less than gentlemanly" I followed up the deletion with a resignation to that forum. While I find that forum very informative, I also find some of the people there to be somewhat sticks in the mud. Sorry, that just isn't me. Rather than disrupt their little community I thought it was best if I just resign.

Ah well, you can't expect to be liked everywhere so I don't try. I am myself and if that's not good enough for some, tough shit.

Good for you for sticking to your guns, mate. Let me be the first to say you're always welcome around my neck of the woods.

There's a shaving forum. I wouldn't have thought that was worth a whole forum.

Shave against the grain....yup, that's it...you can stop posting now.....

It's tad more than that but yeah I suppose it does sound a bit funny. You'd be surprised the forums you can find out there. Can you believe there's actually a flashlight forum out there?

*groan*

You know the most funny part? I received an email from a moderator asking me to reconsider, and this morning I find a form email from another moderator informing me that my resignation post, which was very polite, had been deleted and that I had been banned.

"You can't quit because we are banning you". How hilarious is that?

I'm sitting here wondering what in the world a shaving site could talk about to cause all this rukus.

Now Mason. You weren't bragging about that spiffy new razor were you?

As mentioned, it was in the "off topic" section of the forum so it wasn't actually anything about shaving.

if any of your posts were alike to the ones you post here, there's something definitely way too uptight going on over there.

kinda like when you go in to quit a job and they tell you you're fired. Sad, sad.

Actually my posts there were far more polite than the ones I post here at JU. Ah well, some folks are just way too uptight for their own good. No big loss really. Actually it was only 2 members there who ever expressed any problem with my posts, the rest seemed to enjoy them well enough judging by their comments.

Yeah, I think that part is actually quite funny.

Kind of like closing the door after the shaving cream has bolted. Or, they gave you the brush-off?

Aw to heck with them, they're obviously not worth it! It's sad when it takes two people to do stuff like that! Hey, us 'laymen' around here love it when you talk shaving! Especially since Xmas is so near and all, how about some suggestions on what to buy in a shaving kit etc.? Just a thought and that would be great!
