A bunch of useless crap

I hate cold weather. I just can't get myself motivated when it's cold out. I'm stopped for a quick breakfast before heading on towards Texarkana, but I just hate this crappy Winter weather.

I think it's at least partly the scenery this time of year. All of the trees have dropped their leaves and basically look dead. I love the greenery when cruising along and now Old Man Winter has robbed us of that for the next few months. Bastard.

And to make today even worse my IBS is acting up, treating me to those sudden sharp stabs of pain in my lower gut that feel like someone is inserting and twisting a large knife. That doesn't help my motivational situation one little bit. I guess I shouldn't complain as this is the first time it's acted up in several weeks. Doesn't stop me from bitching about it though.

Ah well, it's just one of those days when I have a lot of miles to cover and don't actually feel like any of them.

But it still beats getting a job.

I cant stand the cold either. Unfortunately, it seems as I will be forced to leave my abode of reasonable warmth near the end of January.

I identify with you on the senary aspect of it all as well. Growing up in MA, I remember the winter months; stark. A virtual wasteland consisting of black sketons for trees, sittng against a dismal grey skies and a blindingly white ground; simply depressing.

Today I'm living in northern CA. The rains are coming and it starts getting a tad chilly. I actually like this time of year, as this is the time the earth renews itself with that green lushness I have come to know and love.

I hate cold weather too Mason.  It is hard to get the lead out when the weather is cold.  All I want to do is eat and read a good book!

gosh Mason,  I know what ya mean,  even though I'm not working I have been there.  One thing that works for me,  and maybe it's a "woman" thing,  not sure...I put together a "comfort kit" so to speak.

It has cocoa,  wool socks cause my feet get cold even under blankets,  some microwave popcorn,  a favorite movie, and I've even been known to stash away a favorite candy like taffy.  Suppose that sounds tooo girly for a burly truckdriver...however whatever can keep you motivated...

I went and bought milk for myself,  BIG mistake...been paying for it too!  I don't have IBS,  however that JIB I had in 73 dictates how I eat so I do have empathy for ya!  ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Mason)))))))))))))))

hope you feel better soon

We are having a non-tropical tropical storm!  Temps are not bd, but limbs down all over the place and leaves galore! (sucks when you think what I spent the last 2 days doing).  Do I hate my weather?  Hell no!  I hope they rip the fricking leaves off of every branch so I only have to do what I did the last 2 days one more time!

Oh, and the weather is mild too.  Have a nice day.

It has it's ups and downs, but I don't consider it a job. It's more of a lifestyle that just happens to pay.

Sometimes I'm envious of folks like you who have nice Sundays at home with their families.

But only sometimes.

You can keep Cali. I hate that overly PC place.

Exactly, although I'd likely swap for drinking and hot chili

Definitely wool socks season. I prefer them in Winter because they still insulate even if they get wet.

As for a comfort kit, I just grab a hot mug of coffee and toodle on down the road.

Ah, I'm not going to compare my idea of cold with yours as yours would win hands down. Still, I don't like the cold either, what little of it we get here.
