A bunch of useless crap
Published on November 3, 2006 By MasonM In Blogging
This morning I went down to Camp Shelby, MS to pick up an Army truck going to Indianapolis. Indy is only 11 hours away. The truck delivers Monday. After two days of pressed running I now have a bunch of extra time on my hands.

I decided to put the time to good use. I rented a hotel room for tonight. I've had a nice hot shower, a shave, and am about to go check out the hotel lounge and have a beer or three.

Tomorrow I'll make my way up within easy reach of Indy and stop to get my laundry done. I had to break out the old jeans I had stashed away. They're a bit too big for me as they are the ones I was wearing before I lost all the weight, but at least they're clean. It's time to get the laundry done.

So now I am forced to relax, drink beer, sleep in, and try to hold up to the horrible pressure of taking my time. Oh the stress of it all!

I did what I could, including teaching the bartender a couple of new drinks.

The bartender at the hotel lounge was, ummm, interesting. She was a classic red headed Irish beauty and quite intelligent. We had a very interesting conversation while I downed a few drinks. Not a dumb gal by any means.

I do so love meeting intelligent people in various places. It's one of the benefits of my line of work. You can never know who you're going to meet or what is going to happen. I love it.

He's good, spending the night alone in the truck. It's not as bad as it sounds, he gets upset if I take him out of the truck. I have the generator running to keep him nice and warm and spent some time playing with him a little while ago. He's happy enough and his food dish is full.
