A bunch of useless crap

I am a morning shaver. It's a wonderful way to start off the day. As I am currently pulling an oversized load and can only run daylight hours, and I also hate having to get out of bed any earlier than absolutely necessary, I decided to get my shave in this evening and save that precious pre-dawn time for that other most wonderful of morning rituals: coffee.

I have to say that it was quite an enjoyable way to end the day. No crowded restroom full of drivers trying to get their turn at the sink for a quick shave (and giving me dirty looks for taking so long with my leisurely shave). I had it all to myself.

I decided on something a little different and loaded a Personna in my SS. I've been using Feathers exclusively since I received my order of them although I still have several packages of the Personnas. Why let them go to waste? I lathered up some T&H Trafalger and went at it.

After using the Feathers for a while, that Personna felt very dull on my two day growth. I was amazed at the difference. It felt like I was dragging a butter knife across my face. It did give me a decent shave, it just didn't feel the same and I did have a bit more touch up to do.

I finished off with a nice refreshing splash of Bay Rum. That's when I could really tell the difference between the Feathers and the Personnas. I got quit a bit more sting than usual from that Bay Rum.

Ah well, it was still an enjoyable experience. I'll have to do the evening shave thing more often.

I could use a good shave...although my facial hair isn't exactly in danger of overgrowing...it's a little sad, I cannot get a beard for the life of me...sideburns aren't half bad though.

Lately I've been having more than a cup myself!

Evening time does sound like the better time for shaving. Does that mean you won't have overnight hair grown in? or growth? Sorry, my question sounds kind of lame, not worded properly. Time for bed!

You're lucky. Trust me, a heavy, fast growing beard is nothing to be desired.

Naturally it grows a bit over night just as it would during the day, but the key is in getting a good close shave to begin with. I suppose if I still did the suit and tie job thing I couldn't get away with shaving in the evening, but in my current line of work it really doesn't matter if I have 5 o'clock shadow at 8:00 am

No, not stubbly if I get a good close shave, but I do have that shadow in the morning. No big deal.

How many shaves do you get out of a razor?

You mean out of a blade? If so, it depends upon which blade I am using. The Personnas (found in Wal Mart or any drug store) give me 3 shaves per blade, but they're quite cheap. The Feathers, sharpest blade in the world, will give me about 6 or 7 shaves depending upon whether I shave every day or skip a day here and there.

The Feathers run slightly more than the Personnas. Personnas cost roughly 18 cents a piece and the Feathers run about 25 cents a piece, including shipping, unless ordered in a bulk of 100 and then the price drops to about 15 cents a piece and are actually cheaper than the Personnas. I've been ordering the Feathers in 50 count orders but will soon be placing an order for 100.

Yes, that was what I meant (sorry). I was just curious. When I shaved daily, I would get about 3 as well before it was rubbing instead of cutting. But that was the cheap ones.
