There can be no doubt about the fact that this is Monday. It has Monday written all over it. I got up at 5:00 this morning, which is much easier since the time change, had my coffee and set out to deliver the steel I had picked up in Houston.
Thanks to the wonderful road construction in downtown Milwaukee I had to take a rather convoluted route to get where I needed to be. I had checked my handy dandy street map program and determined where I needed to go and what streets would get me there. Unfortunately what the handy dandy street map program doesn't tell me is that the street I planned to use to get in there was weight restricted. Oops. As I was already half way through the turn when I saw the sign I was pretty well committed to it and pressed on in the hopes that the local cops were still at the donut shop. I guess they were because I didn't get stopped.
Unloading went ok and I called in to dispatch to see what they needed from me next. I had to run out West of the city to pick up a 20' snow plow blade and a snow blower heading for the NE section of the country. Cool, no problem. As I started out I glanced at my fuel level readout. Oh yeah, now I remember, I had meant to fuel before leaving the truckstop this morning. Fuel level: 3%. Oops.
I changed course and headed South to the nearest fuel stop. I made it and refueled my rig. I then started out again to make the pick up. When I got there I discovered that they hadn't quite finished the blade and had to wait a while for them to put the finishing touches on it. They finally got everything loaded and I once again called in. Stop off in Milwaukee (wasn't I just there?) and pick up a large magnet heading for CA, and then come on to the yard.
When I arrived here to pick up the magnet the guy informs me that it isn't ready yet. It should be ready around 1:00. Well, ok, whatever. So now I sit twiddling my thumbs yet again. It's definitely a Monday.
I just can't wait to see what happens next.
