I made the Houston delivery this morning. I was nearly an hour early as I managed to beat the bulk of the morning traffic. The guys at the shop where I delivered the three large generators were quite nice. I was offered a hot cup of coffee before we set to work with unloading the beasts.
After we had their three unloaded one of the guys noticed that one of the end panels on the lone remaining generator, which is going to San Antonio, had come loose. I inspected it and three of the bolts had vibrated out. Nothing like quiality workmanship. Amazingly enough all three bolts were laying on the deck of the trailer. One had lost it's washer but the other two were intact. Incredible that they hadn't fallen off entirely.
The guys there grabbed their tools and a replacement washer and resecured the panel for me. That was above and beyond the call of duty being as it wasn't even their unit. Like I said, nice guys. I thanked them, shook their hands, and set off for I-10 and San Antonio. Once of the guys had clued me in on a shortcut down to I-10 that would keep me out of the rush hour traffic. He was dead on and I was on i-10 heading out of Houston in no time.
I am stopped for breakfast between Houston and San Antonio. It's about 2 hours or so to San Antonio from here. I've finished my breakfast and will proceed on over there so I can get settled in at the truckstop until morning. As I have all of this time to kill I am going to use the time to do some houosekeeping in my truck. Afterwards I'll enjoy a nice hot shower and shave. I may even get ambitious and actually do my paperwork. Or not.
I'm looking forward to a relaxing day of peace and quiet after the semi-hard run down here from WI. At least I should be able to get some rest.
