A bunch of useless crap

Today was a hard travel day. I had to make it down here near Houston so I can deliver tomorrow morning. I made one stop on the way from MO, just long enough to take a leak and fill my thermos. I know these little truckstops along US 59 in TX and if you don't get into a parking spot early, you don't get into one at all.

I wheeled in here about 30 minutes ago. There were 4 empty parking spots and I took 1. In the time it took me to walk inside, do what I had to do to download all the coffee, and walk back out here the other 3 were taken.

It was a notably uninteresting trip with a single exception. I passed a rather large grass fire along I-40 in AR. Luckily the wind was carrying the smoke away from the highway otherwise it could have caused an accident.

I'm still about 2 hours from my delivery point in Houston, counting morning traffic problems, so I'll be getting an early start in the morning and try to be there as close to 8:00 as I can make it. I'll be able to get some rest tomorrow after delivering in Houston as my second stop is just over in San Antonio and it delivers 8:00 am on Tuesday. I'll have plenty of time to kill.

Hi M, good to read you again! Good thing that fire wasnt a problem. I'm surprised with the weather there would be a fire now, but then again in that area it's still warm isn't it? As you know it's still hot here, yesterday was pretty humid!

Sounds like you've got your timing under control. Safe travel!

Actually it's pretty chilly. Not as cold as WI but cooler than I expected.

Ummm.....somehow that just struck me as very kind of ironic?  As in, what exactly were you filling your thermos with?

Yeah, I could have phrased that better.

It was coffee by the way.
