A bunch of useless crap

Today's driving was...interesting. Frustrating, but interesting. You see, it was raining today in Georgia. Rain in Georgia really seems to bring out the stupid in people. Driving on a sunny day seems to make them dumb, but let it rain and they become complete imbiciles.

I spent almost as much time sitting in accident related backups today than actually moving. It was crazy. Wreck after wreck all along I-75 and I-285. I passed one especially nasty looking one South of Atlanta. A red Firebird was crushed up underneath a big rig's trailer. It wasn't pretty and I'd truly be amazed if anyone inside that car survived.

There were numerous cars and even one big rig in the ditches. You would think it was ice on the road instead of rain. Unreal. I saw them smashed into walls and trees, laying on their tops, and even laying one on top of the other. How did they do that?

I made it out of GA, through TN and into KY where I'll spend the night. I am still 14 hours out of my destination in WI, assuming no more weather related delays. I was hoping to be there tomorrow afternoon but now it'll be Thursday. Such is the trucking biz.

Ah well, at least Socrates had fun chasing the windshield wipers today.

I find that with snow in the UK, they really go ditzy over here.

I don't understand why people can't get that they have to drive to the conditions. Maybe you shouldn't be going 15 miles over the speed limit when the roads are wet.

So what state do you think has the worst drivers? Of the places I lived Maryland was the worst for people pulling out in front of you. It drove me crazy.

Sadly most of them never learn that. Of course on wet roads one shouldn't pull out right in front of a big rig either. I had one today pull off the ramp right in front of me and he couldn't have been doing 25mph. Lucky for that nitwit the lane next to me was clear and I was able to avoid his dumb ass.

NC hands down. Dumbest drivers in the country.

VA has some really bad drivers too, but they're easy to spot by the NC license plate.

If you have had along dry spell, then it rains the built up oil on the road and water make it slick as ice.

Yes, thank you. I'm aware of that. The oil can make the road quite slick for a short period of time before the oil is washed away. In the heavy rain such as today, that is normally 30 minutes or less. The road was wet but it wasn't at all any more slick than any wet road would be. The people were simply driving stupidly. When it is raining so hard that you can't see for 1/8th of a mile in front of you, you do not drive at 75 mph.

Seriously? I would have thought Michigan.

Glad you drove safely today, Mason!

UGh. Sounds miserable Mason.

I hate driving in really heavy rain...freaks me out.

Glad you made it ok, slow, but OK.

It used to be MI but the good folks in NC stepped up to the challenge and took over the position.

Thanks.

Thanks. I don't mind driving in the rain, it's just the idiots that make it a pain.

If you had not mentioned the state, I would have sworn you were talking about LA!  When they get rain, they treat it like a blizzard in the midwest!
