I have been giving this a great deal of thought today. I am a person who despises rudeness and yet I have been rude to a member of JU simply because I feel that he makes a fool of himself. Upon reflection I realize that it is his right to make a fool of himself if he so chooses, but it is not my right to be rude to him. Simply put, I was wrong and regret certain comments that I have made on his threads.
I feel that people can disagree with each other, or choose to ignore each other, but one crosses the line when they resort to rudeness and personal insults. It is uncalled for and beneath contempt. I am guilty of behaving in a manner of which I strongly disapprove and honestly regret my poor behavior with regard to this blogger. It is highly unlikely that I will ever agree with this person but it is my responsibility to disagree in an acceptable manner.
From this point forward if I feel that I can't respond to any blogger's articles or comments without resorting to such ungentlemanly behavior I will simply not respond at all. I will not resort to name calling or insults as these things are beneath me. Polite debate and even humor are far more acceptable in my opinion and will be my rule of thumb from this point forward.
