A bunch of useless crap

My final stop at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City is not getting off to a roaring start here. First off the dumbass gave me directions to wrong gate and cost me about 15 minutes getting turned around and traveling to the correct gate for which I had driven right past the exit to get to the wrong one.

I finally got to the correct gate, got through the security inspection and to the delivery location on the base only to find the area, a fuel depot, far too small to easily maneuver in and it took me another 10 minutes of jacking around to get backed into the correct spot.

Now I have found that the lull they planned to use to unload this generator is far too small. The generator is fairly large and weighs in at 6,800 lbs. Their lull is rated for 6,000 lbs max and the forks are too small. These guys do this sort of thing for a living. They're electrical contractors. You'd think they would know what they would need to unload a generator of this size being as they spec'ed and ordered the damned thing. Real professional here.

Normally a generator of this size is unload with either a 10,000 lbs rated lull or, even better, a crane. As soon as I saw the tiny lull I knew it wasn't going to work.

Looks like this is going to be one of those days.

They may do it for a living, but no one has said they do it well!

Very true. They finally found another contractor working on the base that had a large lull. He came over and took it off.

I am now waiting for my breakfast at the truckstop before heading back to Kansas to pick up my next load.

Thanks, it was ok. I'm now in Wichita, KS sitting in line waiting to be loaded. I knew it was going to be one of those days. 10 trucks in line ahead of me.

Oh Mason you are having a lousy day. How are you feeling healthwise though, any better?

Ouch! I'm glad the other guy was there to help you!

Some days go like that.

I'm still a bit under the weather. Nasty cough and all that, but am feeling a bit better. Hopefully it's about finished with me and I'll be back to my abnormal self in another day or two. Thanks for asking.
