A bunch of useless crap

I got up this morning at the hotel. I sucked down some much needed coffee, showered, shaved for the first time in three days, and dressed for work. I was expecting my load to be ready for me to secure it and start making my way toward OK.

When I reached the yard I didn't see any loaded trailer that looked like my load so I went into the office to see what was up. It seems that while he had been adding up the dimensions of the pieces to be sure they would all fit on the trailer he forgot to add the weights until late yesterday. The total was way too heavy and just wouldn't work.

He's now refiguring the load with some different pieces to make a full load that still pays well but will be of legal weight. That's all well and good but now I am still sitting and waiting for a load out of here. As I am not feeling well I really wanted to get an early start so as to be able to take my time and allow myself as much rest time as possible.

Something tells me I'm going to wind up pushed for time and having to run harder than I feel like doing at the moment. Oh well, such is the nature of trucking.

Oh, and it's raining. Just what I need with this damned cold; securing a load in a cold rain.

Doesn't sound like a great day so far, but hopefully it'll get a lot better for you soon

Thanks, it goes that way some days. I've been putting the time to good use. Being as today is payday I went and did a little shopping and picked up a decent looking pair of casual shoes as my old ones were starting to look pretty ratty.

Now I'm back at the yard. Still waiting.

Thanks. I hope so as well (on both counts).

I used to help a friend stack alfalfa hay bales on his truck and if it looked like rain the load would have to be tarped. My friend always said that just sayin' the word tarp makes the wind pick up ten miles an hour!

Yuck...cold rain...yuck!

Ditto on the sentiment! Oy hope you're at least on your way by now. If not, hope it won't be too long before you're all set to go. Feel better soon. A nice cup of chicken noodles does a body good when you're feeling poorly.

Crappy weather, crappy load, crappy day and feeling generally crappy.

I am sorry to hear all this Mason, maybe you got out of bed too soon?

I sincerley hope you start to feel better soon and that things pick up for you returning to a normal "flow" for you.

*sending you some healing*

Jumpin Jehosafat!

I sincrely hope that's not somebodys name!

ahhh,  oh I was going to say maybe it's good karma you got sick now,  it's raining now,  and maybe later everything will come together for you,  you know?

Maybe I should try wishing for you,  as that seems to be working today...

I wish you felt better Mason and that the weather clears when you need it to be clear!

Hope that works
