A bunch of useless crap

I made my delivery in Minneapolis yesterday. It was raining and cold and took far too long in my opinion. Standing in a cold rain does seem to make everything take too long. Once the machine was unloaded they loaded up the forklift I was to pick up there and I started making my way back across the state to the yard.

It wasn't really a hard day at all but for some reason by the time I reached the yard I was exhausted although I'm not sure why. I was looking forward to some rest.

The boss asked me if I would travel half way back across the state to make a 5:00am pick up and deliver the load to the Southern part of the state. I didn't say no but I think the look on my face was enough to convince him that I really wasn't too thrilled at the prospect. He called another driver and asked him to do it instead and told me to go get some rest. I was more than happy to oblige.

I was originally supposed to put my truck in the body shop this morning to have the repairs made to the damages caused by the rookie driver who hit it in a truckstop. All of the parts are now in, but the body shop was booked up and so now I'm waiting to hear when we will be able to have the repairs made.

I'll probably do some load shagging today while we wait to find out. Shagging loads is basically going and picking up various parts of loads and bringing them back here to the yard where the full loads we haul out are put together. It's a lot of work and running around but that how we get our high paying loads and somebody has to do it. I still feel a bit tired, maybe I'm coming down with a bug, but I'm rested enough now to make some pick ups while waiting to hear from the body shop.

It's still cloudy, cold, and miserable out here but at least it isn't raining at the moment. Time to wander into dispatch and see what sort of fun they have in mind for me this morning.

I hope it is not a bug.  That would make for a crappy day.  Maybe it is just the changing of the seasons.

Yeah, perhaps just the changing of the season and the rain. Hope you're feeling better now. Try to get some more rest later.

I hope as well you're feeling better by now. This weather sure is a switch from the 80 degrees we had on Saturday! A complete turn around in temps and humdiity.

there's an old saying here in MN. if you don't like the weather, just wait a day or two and it changes, 350 degree turns! Sure is true now.

Hang in there!

Thanks folks. Perhaps it is the weather, but after yet another day it's feeling more like the early stages of a bug. Yuk.

We ekked out a fairly nice day until the end when it started pouring here in the Northeast. The good thing is I just barely finished my three mile run with the team before it started.

Tomorrow should be a better day. Hope you get some needed rest so you don't get the bug. Take two asprin and call us in the morning.....

Three mile run? Since I got out of the service (Roman Legion) I don't run unless there is a very large dog chasing me.

Thanks, I'm hoping the bug decides to go bother someone else.

hahahah, it's the small dogs that you have to watch out for. I think they have a serious case of small dog syndrome.

I was hoping to run 7 miles today but it got cut to three because of time restrictions and the weather combined.

Take care,
