A bunch of useless crap

It's chilly here. The wind has a definate nip to it. This feels more like late October than the middle of September. I am not yet ready for the cold weather to begin. I want my warm weather back dang it.

They're talking snow out West already. Come on! Let's kind of ease into this Winter thing shall we? A few weeks of nice comfortable days and cool evenings with a gradual cool down and slide into Winter. What's the rush?

Even wearing a long sleeve shirt and fedora I was feeling pretty chilly by the time I had walked from the truckstop building to my truck. I should have taken my jacket I suppose but it just doesn't seem right to need one this soon.

If I wake up in the morning and see snow or frost on my windshield the weather man best find a good hiding place! Seriously though, it does seem kind of early for this sudden down turn in temperature. Hopefully there will be some nice warm days yet before Old Man Winter settles in for a few months.

Where's global warming when you need it?

I hear you. The leaves are turning, the weather is getting cooler and summer can hardly be seen in the rearview mirror. Apparently Farmer's Almanac says it's going to be a long, hard winter. I have no problem with a hard winter, but in these parts (the midwest) it's made that much harder by the lack of sunshine and the fact that everything looks dead.

Do you stay warm enough in your truck during the winters?

Global warming?  heh,  we had it here in MN. in July,  12 days of over 90 degrees!  Now we're sliding right into late Oct. as of this coming week!  Smile   in Oct. of 91 we had a 17 inch snowfall

Boy, my sentiments exactly. I've been thinking about this. The last two days I've been basking in the hot sun doing outside work knowing these days are limited. I think we have tomorrow and then the temp drops 20 degrees on Tuesday. I am not happy about that.

So what can I do? I'm actually thinking of booking a cruise for Jan-Feb this year. The first time I've ever been able to even think about doing such a thing....but since it's our 25th...I'm taking advantage of this thought trying to make it a reality.

At least it gives me something to look forward to.

Hey Mason, can't you just do your trucking in the south during the winter months? I think I'd seriously think about that....

I miss seeing Fall's foliage! We don't see it here where we are.

It's still pretty hot here until about November when it gets cooler. It's actually quite pleasant. One thing I didn't know til I get here is that Florida does get cold. Not as cold as in the Northern states, but it's cold for Florida.

I was just looking at the calendar earlier this evening and noticed that Fall begins in September, kind of early I thought, but maybe I just don't notice anymore.

We are still basking in mild temps as well.  But that probably will not last longer than another week.

Sure, it has heat. The APU provides heat, ac, and electricity when the truck isn't running.

I wish. That's the down side to working for a company based in WI.

Many people think it stays warm all year in FL. Warmer than other places perhaps, but it feels cold at times.

Enjoy it while you can.

Hmm...today it really felt like fall here. Leaves are already scattered everywhere and there's a bit of a nip in the air. Still a pretty nice day and all, at least it's not cold and raining...bleh.
