I'm in NE Georgia to pick up a press heading to Minneapolis. Being a piece of machinery designed to be indoors, it has to be tarped to prevent water damage during transport. The thing is 4 feet wide by 6 feet long by 11 feet tall. And it's pouring rain.
I hit rain yesterday and it hasn't stopped yet. We can't load the thing in the rain as it would get rather wet which would not be a good thing. I am also not entirely interested in tarping something in the rain. Those big tarps are hard enough to handle and work with when they're reasonably dry, and become very slick and nasty when soaked.
When I got into this area after sitting in a three hour standstill while waiting for a large and nasty wreck to be cleared from the highway, I called the guy at the rigging company to see if they had an indoor facility for loading this thing. Nope. That clinched it, we just can't load the thing today.
So now I get to sit around until tomorrow in hopes that this rain will stop or at least slack off enough to allow us to load this thing so I can be on my way.
Ya win some, ya lose some. I should have slept in.
