A bunch of useless crap

Five years ago today the United States suffered the worst attack since WWII. This attack, carried out not by another nation but by a small group of Islamic radicals, forever changed our country.

Unless you're one of the small number of loons who accuse the US government of being behind this evil act, and whether or not you support our current military actions in the Middle East, or are yourself a terrorist or terrorist supporter, the events of five years ago are remembered with a sadness and perhaps a bit of anger.

I remember exactly where I was on that day five years ago. I was in NJ right across the river from NYC. I recall leaving NJ the day following these events and as I passed through NJ and Philadelphia that the streets and roadways were eerily empty as people stayed home from work and in their homes waiting to see what was coming next.

I remember my own growing anger as news of what had happened began to unfold and tell the story of how this group of evil men carried out an attack against thousands of innocent people going about their daily lives.

I remember the sadness as I learned of the casualty numbers.

Do you remember?

I remember where I was.  At work at a small state Agency.  I had to take one of my tests that day (the AD portion of the 2k MCSE).  My then girl friend called almost in hysterics.

Yea, that is a kennedy moment.

Hmm...I was in Phys Ed. in 8th grade....I didn't exactly know about it until the next class...which was English and the TV was on showing what happened. Yeah, I remember very vividly....

I was at work, my husband phoned and told me. I went home and turned the telly on to witness an atrocious act of cowardice by a bunch of extremist lunatics. It was an horrific day and the clean up months that followed as horrific.

Two days I will never ever forget, (the death of Princess Diana) and the 9/11 monstrosity.

God Bless the West! God Bless Our Culture. God Bless Our freedom!

God Bless Democracy!

May we all stand strong against such acts of cowardice, with God behind us.

I didn't see this M. You were so close uh? I didn't 'know' you at that time. It was a little too close for me but I won't forget too.

I remember...

Let's hope it becomes a day that we never forget... never forget that we are a nation who overcomes our adversities, not wallows in self-pity. Let us never forget that we can't let the tragedy of the past cause us to forget that we still have a future.
