A bunch of useless crap
I don't think he had fun

Well we made it back home from Socrates' first trip to the vet. Being as I am the only person he is used to interacting with he was frightened by the people there. He especially didn't like the fact that they kept putting their hands on him, and was totally put out when the girl inserted the swab to get a sample for the worm test. I think he was very insulted by that.

The physical and injection went pretty well. He voiced a smal objection to the injection, but actually took it better than I expected. The real trouble started when the vet drew some blood for the feline leukemia test. You could hear Socrates raising hell all over the clinic. He was suddenly a very unhappy, angry kitty and wanted to bite somebody in the worst way. I really felt sorry for him, but it was for his own good.

He received a clean bill of health with one exception. He has ear mites. The vet said it was very common and he probably has had them all along. I have some drops I have to put in his ears for a couple of weeks to get rid of them. I had noticed that Socrates had a habit of shaking his head every once in a while, but as he didn't scratch and dig at his ears I never even thought about mites. Live and learn. The vet said the drops would have them gone in no time and his ears won't itch any more.

We're back home now and after demanding a little consolation attention Socrates is relieving the stress in typical cat fashion. A nap.

Good. I'm glad it's ok.
