A bunch of useless crap

While cooking lunch my little place got really hot. The sun is blazing down on the roof and it's a typical Florida muggy day, and it was getting really uncomfortable in here. The little air conditioner unit in the bedroom just isn't up to the job of cooling the whole place. I said enough is enough already.

After lunch I got a ride down to Lowes and purchased a small 8,000 BTU window unit for the living room. It took me about 30 minutes to remove the window panels, install the brace and the air conditioner. It's been running for about 10 minutes now and the place is really starting to feel good and comfortable.

It's a pretty cool ac unit (pun intended). It has electronic controls including settings like energy saving mode, temperature setting, and full automatic. It's the first window ac unit I've ever seen that came with a remote control.

I'd been putting off buying another unit for too long now, figuring I could just bear the heat since I'm not home all that much. Today I decided that's exactly why I should buy one. I want to be comfortable while I'm enjoying my down time.

I mounted the thing where it blows through the entire length of the place so it may well be able to keep the whole place cool. If so I can just not run the bedroom unit at all unless the temps get really outrageous.

Sometimes it's worth it to spend a couple of hundred on comfort.

Thanks, I am. I really am. It feels great. Best money I've spent in a while.

Thanks. Actually I did get it for a good price and it was well worth it. Usually when I cook it gets very uncomfortable in here. Now it stays nice and comfy. Love it.

We had central air put in after living without it for about 7 years. Some of the best money we ever spent.
Our electric bill actually went down! My Husband explained something about the 220 electricity using less than 6 fans on 120 electricity.
Hey - whatever - I thanked him for the A/C.
Enjoy your new comfort.

Yeah central is more efficient but I would feel a bit silly installing it in a travel trailer

We have not seen the sun since last Wednesday.  And more rain today!  Drought all summer, and now the deluge!

A remote control? That sounds really nice Mason. Unless of course it ends up like the tv remote....always missing in action. heh.

Well, it's not like I can't reach the buttons on the ac from my seat
