I'm back in WI. I stopped at the yard long enough to drop my trailer and collect my paycheck. I asked the boss what he had planned for me. His answer was "I'm not sure yet". That's cool.
I boogied to the bank, cashed my check, checked into the hotel, and hit Applyby's.
My favorite bartender, Jenny, wasn't working there any more. Major bummer. The new bartender, Nikki, was actually better looking and sexier, but not nearly as much fun.
Several of the people who worked there said hello to me and told Nikki to a take good care of me, but it just wasn't the same. The fun factor was lacking big time. It's amazing how a single person can really make a place fun or not.
I had a good time anyway. I make my own fun regardless of whether anyone else is having fun or not. Damn, but Nikki was definately a hot number, and we did chat a bit and share a few jokes, but it just wasn't the same as when Jenny worked there.
Ah well, that's the nature of life, isn't it? People come into and out of our lives and we just have to deal with it. It's always fun when someone new enters our life. Sometimes it's a person we just happen to meet, sometimes it's a new band we hear on the radio that we really dig, sometimes it's just a person we chat with for 5 minutes while waiting for a bus. Whatever, sometimes people drift into and out of our lives and enrich it in ways we don't even appreciate at the time.
I really missed Jenny tonight. Not because I thought she was cute or anything like that (which I did indeed), but because she and I had a "thing". An unexplainable merging of personalities that just makes two people click. I really loved that girl because she and I just hit it off from the moment we met and we always had a fun time when we spent time together. That's a rare thing, and it sad when it breaks up.
But that's the nature of life, isn't it?
