Last night I was tinkering around with my desktop. I tried some new icons and graphics. It wasn't a radical change, but I thought it looked nice and so I posted a screenshot in my blog. Within a few minutes an Admin removed my screenshot image. WTF?
There was nothing obscene, vulgar, or objectionable about my desktop at all. No nudie pic or anything like that. The only reasons I can think of for this is that either this Admin has gotten carried away here, screenshots have suddenly become a TOS violation I was unaware of, or Linux users are no longer welcome here. Now, I do know that many JU blog articles cross over to some of the other "company" related sites and forums (certainly not my fault), but I believe that Admin can tell whether an article was posted as a JU blog article or in one of those forums, especially if he has to access it to edit (butcher) it.
This wasn't anything really important so I just deleted the article, but I wanted to express the fact that I find it to be highly offensive to have my blog article edited in such a way when it was not in TOS violation. I have never had a problem with an admin here before and try to make a point of complying with the TOS I agreed to when I started my blog here so I really don't appreciate my blog article being arbitrarily butchered in this manner.
Now, I'm not going to fly off the handle over this one incident and go into a rage calling this admin a fascist, say I'm leaving JU, and all of that drama. I like JU and enjoy blogging here in this community atmosphere. I chose to go to bed and sleep on it rather than post this article at the time because, frankly, I was angry and didn't want to post it while I was angry because I appreciate the fact that Brad provides JU free of charge for people like myself to blog.
Like I said, it was just a stupid screenshot, I just don't appreciate one of my blog articles being editied in this manner for no good reason I can see and wanted to vent.
