I'm feeling lazy today. I need to go to Wally World to get some supplies both for the next few days at home as well as for the road. It's blazing hot and I just don't feel like riding the bent the 4 miles to get there. Besides, I would have to make more than one trip to get everything if I ride the bent.
Mom had an appointment to be examined and to schedule surgery to have her cataracts removed. She said she needed to go to Wally World herself after the appointment and that I could ride along with them. I got off my lazy butt and got myself showered, shaved, and dressed. Now I'm just awaiting her call to let me know she's back from the doctor and ready to go.
I'm looking forward to being able to cook myself a meal tonight as I get tired of take out or nuked quickie meals on the road. Now I just have to decide what I want to prepare for dinner tonight. I'm thinking either spaghetti or my fried rice dish. I'm leaning towards the fried rice at this point. I'll just buy the makings for both and decide when it gets closer to dinner time.
I hate bumming rides but there's a more practical issue that's also preventing me from riding. I forgot to lube the chain on the bike before I left home the last time and with the humidity here it rusted. I rode it a bit last night and several links are frozen, refusing to flex, and it makes for a less than smooth ride.
I heavily lubed and cleaned the chain this morning, running it constantly for about 10 minutes. Now I'm just letting the lube work itself into the linkis and do it's job. Hopefully after siting over night the chain will be back to normal again and I can get some riding in tomorrow. Otherwise I guess I'll be replacing the chain.
