A bunch of useless crap

I enjoy some Kraft Mac N Cheese every once in a while, and it's normally a treat I reserve for when I'm at home. But since I now have a microwave in the truck I decided to try the Kraft's microwave mac n cheese that comes in the little bowl. You just add some water, nuke it for a few minutes, and add the powdered cheese stuff to it and stir it up.

I was pretty dubious about the whole thing honestly, but the stuff isn't bad at all. I think it's going to be a staple among my road supplies from now on along with the assorted soups and sandwich fixins.

Don't truckers wrap up taters and what not in foil and stick on the old exhaust manifold for a few miles anymore? Man, anything oughta be better than microwave mac 'n cheese!

Mac and cheese huh?    my kid loves that, I detest it!

Have you tried or do you like chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy?  Dinty Moore now is owned by Hormel,  make a wonderful microwavable dish

Nah, we stopped doing that a long time ago. Now we microwave everything; it's quicker.

I'll look for it, thanks. Nothing wrong with a bit of variety.

Personally, I can't stand the stuff, but whatever fills the stomach on a long haul, I guess.

Given it was a staple growing up, it took me a long time to start eating it again.  But when I get a cheese craving, it is pretty good.

Ditto, I stopped eating it for a long time too, but then I started making a quick "bachelor's dinner" using it, some tuna, and a can of peas. It tastes better than it sounds

Yuppers. How long's it been since you peeked inside a well appointed sleeper berth, Shovel? Ahh, the modern day conveniences we had...and this was a decade ago, when i was still driving otr with my ex!

We had a microwave, mini-fridge, a small convection oven (like an oversized toaster oven with 2 burners on top) satellite tv, a full sized bed, a small closet, dresser/desk unit, seperate climate control, seperate speakers and sound system control, overhead and reading lights, overhead storage compartments and half a dozen electrical outlets. Todays well equipped trucks have their own internet access too, although Im damnned glad that wasnt available when moose and i drove or we'd have never gotten anywhere!

Yes, it was a tiny home away from home...but still too stifling and claustrophobic for much more than sleeping while my partner drove and short layovers. Oi! and it got messy FAST, every little thing had to be in place or it looked wrecked and chaotic.

Lol, and I still had to pee in a bag-lined, tightly lidded trashcan. I guess some things never change...

Yeah they are set up even nicer now in these newest rigs. Very roomy compared to the ones 10 years ago.

I agree about the messy thing, it only takes a couple of things out of place to make it look trashed. Kinda makes a neat freak out of ya.

I used to have satellite tv but realized that I didn't watch enough tv to make it worth paying the 40 bucks so just watch DVDs now and have satellite radio instead.

It's great having wireless internet at the truckstops now. Pull in, turn on the computer, and you're online right from the rig. Remember the old Park and Viewwhere ya had to run 50 feet of cable and phone line out to the little mounds in the parking lots for tv, phone, and internet (very SLOW internet)? They went belly up. Seems wireless internet and cell phones killed them.
