I've been steadily putting things away and getting the new truck organized somewhat. It's getting much nicer and roomier in here now that things are put away. There's one thing about the rig that I've been a little disappointed with and that's the cooling capacity of the generator unit. The ac works but it just didn't seem to me that it was blowing out nearly enough air to keep the sleeper cool enough when the sun is beating down on the truck.
While vacuuming the carpet today I noticed a large vent at the bottom of the bed pedestal a few inches above the floor. It was closed. I opened it and a high volume of air was suddenly rushing into the sleeper. It's a high volume vent for the generator's heat/air system and it had been closed all this time. No wonder it wasn't cooling enough!
I've had that vent open now for a couple of hours and it's actually getting a tad chilly in here. What a difference! It really does pay to look around a bit, especially when moving into a new place.
I'm pretty happy with the sleeper now that I have uncrowded it. There really is an amazing amount of room in here. I can stand up and stretch, walk around a bit, and generally get pretty comfortable in here. I'm going to look for one of those big bed pillows with arms on it, kinda like a chair back and arms for the bed. That will make sitting and watching movies or using the computer a lot more comfortable. Either that or I'll just get one of those folding chairs used for camping and such and sit in it while doing those things. There's plenty of room for one.
