It Finally Arrived!

As I mentioned in another post I stopped in KY and purchased the Calabash pipe I had been wanting. Well, when I got to the yard today I found that the churchwarden I had ordered off the internet had arrived. Yippie! I had been really looking forward to getting my grimy paws on that pipe.

The top one is the Calabash, the bottom one is the mail order pipe. It's the same pipe smoked by Gandalf in LOTR. I've already started breaking it in.

So how many pipes do you have? When did you start collecting them? My dad smoked a pipe when I was little. I remember buying him a super bright blue one for father's day one year.

I just got started again smoking a pipe about...what?...a month ago, maybe six weeks.

I only have ten pipes at the moment. And one on order ( a meerschaum churchwarden). The Calabash is the most expensive one I currently have (over $100), but I don't regret buying it. It smokes better than any of the others.

Nice gift for your dad. A pipe collector can never have too many
