A bunch of useless crap

The ACLU, who have always claimed to stand primarily for freedom of speech, have finally proven themselves for the hypocrits that they are. I first heard this story on XM Satellite radio.

As reported in the New York Times, the ACLU is considering a new policy in which its board members would be prohibited from publicly criticizing ACLU policies and internal administration.

"You sure that didn't come out of Dick Cheney.s office?" former ACLU board member Nat Hentoff asked. "For the national board to consider promulgating a gag order on its members -- I can't think of anything more contrary to the reason the ACLU exists."

I guess they believe in freedom of speech as long as it doesn't hurt their donations.

When did we rename the nation the US instead of the USA? I missed the memo.

Re: America in Michigan schools, you might want to read this link. A non-issue. It was just some independant advisory group that had discussed it and had never even made the suggestion to the school system.

I'd prefer bombs. When the bad guys are trying to kill you, people act. People recognize them as bad guys. When people eat away at your freedom a little at a time no one notices until there's not much you can do about it.

After Scoring Stute over Baker, now Baker is back on top!  Unfortunately, if the bombs do not kill anyone they know, then the people forget quickly as well.  Unless it is a daily occurance, as it is in Israel.

But yes, removing rights one jenga block at a time does not evoke outrage.  Blowing up the stack does.
