A bunch of useless crap

Being on the road sometimes requires finding alternative ways of doing things that are simply done at home. Blending/mixing things is one of those tasks. It just isn't practical to carry an electric blender in the truck. I recently bought a Blender Bottle and am finding it really handy.

Basically it's a plastic shaker bottle with a stainless steel wire ball inside that acts like a whisk when the bottle is shaken. I am using it to make protein shakes.

The first shake I tried was 8 ounces of almond milk, 1 tablespoon of peanut butter, and a scoop of triple chocolate whey protein shake powder. After shaking it all up for about a minute it was perfectly blended.

Tonight I tried something a little different and used the same volume of almond milk, 6 ounces of low fat strawberry banana yogurt, and the same protein shake powder. The bottle blended it all together perfectly and it tasted delicious! That's officially my favorite so far.

That wire ball really makes a difference on how well the thing blends the ingredients together. Not really a replacement for a blender, but damn close and it doesn't take up much room at all.

The blender sounds interesting, albeit the drinks. . .

I guess it is an acquired taste.

Not really. The protein shake powder is "triple chocolate" and tastes just like a chocolate milk shake. No bad taste to it at all.

That really is neat Mason.  And your mixes sound good too.  I put some malt in mine sometimes too.  I have a very little electric (of course) Hamilton Beach Pulse and it works really well and soooo easy to clean.

Where have you been traveling these days?  Lots of hot weather I imagine.  How much weight have you dropped.  Hope you are feeling meaner and leaner.  Shout back?

Thanks, Judy. I was down in Miami last week, nice and HOT. I am now in North Carolina on my way to Camp Lejeune to deliver a military truck.

I've dropped around 26 lbs so far and several inches from my fat belly. My body fat percentage is around 30% which is still way too high but down a good bit from before. The weight loss has slowed a bit due to adding on lean muscle mass from exercise, but as long as the fat keeps coming off I'm happy with that.

I had been having some serious heel pain due to plantar faciitis, I got a better pair of shoes, Nike LunarGlide, which has helped a great deal. A few more days and I expect the pain to be entirely gone. I bought the shoes at a Nike factory outlet store. They're last year's model so discounted a good bit. Fine with me, I need good shoes, not the latest running fashion LOL

I can only imagine how  hot is was in Miami!  Although ABQ has set all time records with 99's and high humidity for here.  Not much rain though but there is  a better chance the rest of this week.   If that fancy word above means a plants wart i can feel your pain.  I had one once and it took forever to heal.  How something that small can hurt so BAD.  Good on the exercise and the weight.  How is the project near and dear to my heart going.  Even thinking about it?

Any Olympics in your world this year?  Swimming and the gymnastics are my favorites but I found the whole presentation a little off with the time delay and chopping up the events into many segments.  I found it stressful and not as much fun.   I actually watched the beach volley ball for the first time and did enjoy some    of the track although Bolt was a little too full of himself for me.  Oh well.  Hope I live to see another one.

My I am chatty kathy here tonight.  Sorry.  Stay safe and cool and don't waste away with all that exercise.

Judy, plantar faciitis is basically inflammation in the cushioning tissue in the sole of the foot, common with runners and fat people like me LOL. Stretching exercises and good shoes is the cure.

As for the "project", I've quit the cigs for a good while now. Still enjoy my pipes but don't inhale that smoke. Just for the flavor and relaxation. Besides, when people see me smoking a pipe they think I'm smarter than I really am LOL.

Being on the road I didn't get to see as much of the Olympics as I would have liked, but I did catch some of the running events and a little of the volleyball. I'm a big fan of the running as that is really how the Olympics got started way back when in Greece.

Am back in Wisconsin tonight after three very long and tiring days. Resting up a little tonight and then tomorrow morning I have to secure my load and scramble out to Montana. 1,332 miles over the weekend to meet a crane at 8:00am Monday morning.

I managed to get in a tad over 5 miles of walking today, but I think this weekend is going to be all driving and not much else.

I am remiss about getting back to you. i am sure you are back from Montana and out again  some where hither and yon.  Good to hear about the smokes!  And the weight loss and the walking!  You are working it.  I am seeing some benefits from my yoga for the "health challenged" and am stiff tonight.  Guess I worked it hard enough.

Strange summer here with too blazing hot to get out to smoked out by forest fires to HIGH humidity with monsoon season.  A girl can't catch a break. Did get to the the pool x 2 before the rains started and chilled the water down.  I vow to walk and take my tank with.  Had a successful run to spend lots of money at the grocery store today.  Enjoying the summer fruit.

Well, stay safe out there and don't forget about having some fun!  Went to the movies and saw Hope Springs.  I really enjoyed it.  Catch you later.  judy

Do what you can, as often as you can. Keep at it hard and you might even get rid of that tank. Yeah, I shudder every time I have to hit the grocer.
