A bunch of useless crap

Living in a truck, I don't get to go barefoot all that often. On most days I pull of my boots when I take a shower and when I go to bed. That is about it.

I am spending a few days in a motel and nursing a seriously injured left big toe so I am trying to not wear my boots any more than necessary as the boot hurts the toe. I am loving going barefoot. Not only is it helping my toe heal more quickly but it just feels damn good.

This motel is rare in that the room has hardwood floors instead of carpeting. I love that. The wood feels really good under my feet, much better than carpet would feel (too much like socks).

I have bumped my sore toe a couple of times, I will admit. It hurt like hell. But over all, not wearing footwear has done a lot to allow my toe to heal and has just felt really damn good. It has been a long, long time since I have spent any substantial time without any sort of footwear and I am truly enjoying it. I really need to do this more often.

For those who live a "normal" life this may seem like a pretty petty sort of thing, but just try to imagine spending all of your time, except for showers and sleeping, wearing shoes or boots. No time off on the couch or going to the fridge for ice cream in bare feet. Just sleep or footwear.

I never really thought about it until now, but damn it going barefoot feels damn good. I am going to have to do it more often.

It does not seem petty.  But I am at the other extreme - I never wear shoes except at work!  People laugh at me when I run around barefoot in the snow, but my feet just were not designed for shoes!

For someone with your occupation it is a treat.  But even for me, barefoot is a pleasure I partake of frequently.

Hope that toe has healed.  You do not have a job that is 9-5 like me (ok, I do work some nights and weekends - but not often).

Yeah, I recall you saying that you rarely wear footwear except at work. These days I am a tenderfoot and just couldn't do it.

Thanks, the toe is in the process of healing and isn't quite as sore as it was. I think it'll be a week or two before it is completely healed up. I was concerned that i might lose the nail, but now it looks like I won't.
