A bunch of useless crap

I belong to a pipe smokers forum and have gotten to "know" a number of fellow pipe smokers through it. Today I was able to actually meet one of them in person. He runs a liquor store in Kentucky and also sells some pipes and tobaccos.

He has been holding a particular Dr. Grabow pipe for me for a few weeks now and I made a point of taking a little detour in order to pick it up from him. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit with him, he's a true gentleman.

After I had purchased the pipe he was holding for me, another pipe besides, a new pipe lighter, and some tobacco, he treated me to lunch at a local Mexican restaurant. It was a very enjoyable time.

Besides the Dr. Grabow I bought a Peterson (made in Ireland) 309 system pipe, an Old Boy pipe lighter which is arguably the best pipe lighter made, two tins of Squadron Leader tobacco (all he had), a tin of Peterson Irish Flake tobacco (I'll be buying more of this stuff!), and he gifted me a pouch of Five Brothers. He gave me great prices on everything I bought, all well under retail.

I'll be stopping back to visit him again as he's a great guy and I think I may have made a new friend.

Here's the stuff I got today:

The Peterson:

The Dr. Grabow:

The Old Boy:

The tobacco:

Sounds like something was salvaged out of the trip through Ky.  And I have siblings living in the state!  I appologize on their behalf.

Glad to see you hook up with a fellow soul.

Yes, it was an enjoyable experience. I don't hold a single bad bar experience against a whole state

This is a great old fashioned English tobacco. I plan to stock up on more of it as I can find it.
