A bunch of useless crap
Published on March 13, 2009 By MasonM In Blogging

It's been a while since I've been able to blog.

The last time I blogged I was waiting out a snowstorm in NY.

I picked up a load in PA and ran it to WI with a stop in IL. I then loaded up an airport crash truck and hauled it down to Mesa, AZ. I am now on my way vack out of Mesa.

The weather is pretty typical for this time of year. I'v gone from pretty warm to snowstorm. I'm spending the night in Amarillo and it's snowing here. Such is the way it is this time of year.

I spent some time in the saloon next to the hotel and had a pretty good time. I met a total loon who believes every coonspiracy theory he's ever heard about 9/11 )he finally got mad at my questions and left) and I met several decent follks. I even ran across another driver that I had met in there a year ago that he and I remembered each other.

That's one thing about my line of work, I meet a lot of people that I run across again later on. Kinda cool really.

I was able to  pay my bills today, which felt pretty good. I hate being behind on my bills.

I   met a lady in the bar who liked me and my way of dress, and wanted to come back to my room with me (am in a hotel tonight). I chatted with her a while but left her in the bar when I left. She was cute and all but I just can't go there with someone that easy. Probably why I've never had an STD.

Gotta admit though, it was temptng.

I need to head home soon. I've been on the road for 3 months now. That's a long time and I'm feeling it. I need some time off the road. I thinnk I'll head home some time in the next week or two.

Life on the road is, as it's always been, interesting. It's what you make of it. I have a bit of fun here and there. What more can you want?

Good to hear from ya Mason.  Good on ya for having good judgment on the lady.  Been in a few waterholes that were more of a meat market. All spam, not really what you'd like but goes down too easy.

I hope that business stays up and that you are able to stay ahead of your bills.

Thanks. I agree about the "goes down too easy" bit. I kinda subscribe to the Groucho Marx concept of not belongng to any club that would have someone like me as a member

Good to see things are going well for you.

Thanks. Business is still pretty slow but better than it was a couple of months ago.

See, this is why I couldn't do your job.  Being away from home for so long would drive me batty.  I love my home, the comfort of my 'things' (yes, I am a bit of a homebody).  Glad to hear you're doing alright and due a break soon.

Well, I do enjoy being home but in a way my home is out here on the road too so I'm pretty comfortable either way. It's the lifestyle I chose and one that pretty much suits my nature. I would go nuts in a regular 9-5 gig now.

And your sensibilities when it comes to the fairer sex are to be admired.

Thanks, it's pretty much a self preservation thing. I've been too many places and seen too many things to fall for a quick piece like that. Besides, I've never really been much of a one night stand kinda guy anyway.

As would I...  oh, wait a minute, I DO work a 9 to 5.  Probably explains why I'm loopy

Nor I.  More of a 'get to know them, romance them then get dumped before I get any' kind of guy
