A bunch of useless crap

Ok, so it's not the greatest job in the world, but it's a start. Today I interviewed for a position in a telecommunications call center. While it's a pretty low level position, it's a start. and it does pay a little better than average for this area.

I just got to Florida on Monday evening and here it is Wednesday and I got hired. Happened quicker than I expected.

It's an indoor job that won't be hard on my bad back and it's a pretty nice and comfortable office environment. Business casual so no need for stuffy suits. And there is opportunity for rapid advancement so it's a "foot in the door".

It's not exactly the ideal job but may lead into something better at some point, who knows? And besides, it beats no job at all.

I also got a lead on a house to buy just a few doors down. The owner is elderly and just wants out of it so she can go live with her children. Said she'd sell it dirt cheap. Not a bad place either.

Maybe my luck is starting to turn around a bit

Thanks everyone. I'm pretty relieved at being able to get a job so quickly. A real load off my mind.

I was really worried that I wouldn't be able to find anything that my bad back was going to let me do.

I''m feeling pretty optimistic right now.

Wow, that didn't take long - way to go Mason! All this talk of Florida is making me feel decidedly cold, brrrr. It must be sunny and hot were you are, am I right?

Yeah Dune. Very warm, but afternoon rain showers. It's the rainy season here right now. Pretty nice though, the rains don't last very long each day. Just enough to cool things off a bit.

Good work, mate! Isn't it a fantastic feeling when things start running your way for a change? I've been in a similar boat recently.

Hope you're enjoying the new job and all the best in securing that house!
