A bunch of useless crap

Language is an interesting thing. In Britain a fag is a cigarette. In the States it's a homosexual.

Sucking on a fag in England means something far different than sucking on a fag in America.

In the States we haul freight in a truck or a big rig. In England it's hauled in a lorry.

If someone asks you if you want to shag, what comes to mind? If you're an American it's a dance. If you're English it means getting nekked and doing the horizontal mamba.

Yep, I'm bored as hell and thinking of silly shit.

So, what terms or phrases can you think of that mean something completely different in places other than your own?

Why are all the football stadiums covered in Astro Turf in NC? They dont want the cheer leaders grazing after the games.

How come the blondes in California don't wear mini skirts? Because they don't want their balls to hang below the hem-line...

How do I get to Michigan?

It's north until you smell it and west until you step in it.

Same in Australia.

We call pickup trucks utes here (short for utility).

Blue is a colour but in Australia it is also a fight or argument. So is Barney as in "My wife and I had a blue/barney after I drank all those beers last night, mate."

Crook is a criminal but in Australia it means feeling sick as in "I'm feeling a bit crook after all those beers last night, mate." It can also mean to express anger, as in "My wife went crook on me for drinking all those beers last night, mate."
