Checked my jar, it's that code. Been sick off and on for a week, dunno if it is salmonella, though.

Good. I'm off recall notice duty for once!

Yep, I have the peanut butter. Nope, no ill effects.

I suppose I'll call Wally and see what they are willing to do about it, since the manufacturer said to just throw it away and I don't really feel like doing that.

{sidenote, I couldn't comment from the forums on your blog at all and I don't even see a comment button...if I didn't have you on my fav list I wouldn't be able to comment!?...I know it's not you....wonky system!}

It's too late for me too, I have a jar in my fridge and it's half done, no wonder we've been feeling queasy and didn't realise it. You know that feeling like you have a stomach flu, but it's not quite that? Ewwww! I'll take it back tomorrow, or later to get a replacement or refund. I love peanut butter!

My son had a jar of Peter Pan with that code and is mailing the jar lid back to ConAgra.

That probably explains why he got sick back in January when he got the jar.  Thank God he didn't continue eating it,  he had a jar of something else he wanted to finish up first...

Whew!

Of course, it couldn't have been because January's smack in the middle of cold and flu season...lol!

Damn glad I don't buy Peter Pan!

I called the 800 number and they have a recording telling people to mail the lid with the code to them along with your name and address.

We have it. And the jar only has about 3 Tbsp worth of PB left in it. No one got sick that I can recall.

We used some of it to make a bird feeder. Do birds catch Salmonella?

Went over to my parents house and looked in their pantry (old habits are hard to break) and lo and behold there was a jar of Peter Pan with 2111 stamped on the lid! They had already ate about a forth of it and I just tossed it in the trash.

I told them to get the PB I get. Good stuff Maynard! WWW Link
