A bunch of useless crap

I was browsing around the web, not really looking for anything in particular, and visited classicshaving.com to see what kind of deals they might have on travel related shaving gear and assorted other things I am always on the look out for. Trucking sometimes requires one to buy certain things that are better suited to travel than the normally used items. Shaving mugs and brushes are among those items. I prefer using a cake cream and a nice brush, but their problematic in a travel shave kit. It gets messy.

While browsing around their site I came across some items that frankly shocked me with their price tags. A $400 hair brush? Really? Who the hell pays $400 for a friggin hair brush? A $380 shaving brush? You've got to be kidding. $400 razor? I thought it was a bit extreme paying $60 for one, Geez, I'm cheap. I like a nice shaving mug but I don't think I'm gonna pay $80 for one. An old coffee mug works just as well.

I find it incredible that people actually spend this kind of money on things like this. Does a $400 hair brush really make your hair look better than that $10 one? Really?

Actually, the only brush that works on my mess is an Avon one!  For Women!  You should see the stares I get from the Avon Ladies!

Whatever works. Somehow I doubt the brush really cares about your gender.

I normally just use a cheap pocket comb and a $10 man's hair brush. They seem to work just fine. I still have the really cheaply made hair brush they gave me when I was in the hospital after the wreck. It works pretty well too. Of course if I check the itemized hospital bill it may well be a $400 brush

My Dad passed on to me the use of a soap bar and brush as shaving cream instead of some fancy overprised half effective gel.

It works better than any other thing on the market. I know because I have tried them.

The bar soap is good, and worth the cheap ass price you pay for it. Not to mention it lasts a HELL of a lot longer!!!

Though razor is another story all together... Me and razor's have a big beef, since I'm a hairy man who has to shave at LEAST once a day to stay in reg's...

I'm proudly cheap. I have a hard time paying big bucks for something when the cheaper version will do just as well. Is this stuff gold plated with diamond studs or what? I had a friend who would buy something high dollar just so she could say - I paid $300 for that glass you're drinking out of. I don't know who she was impressing because I always thought that it was pretty dumb to pay that kind of money for something like that.

That's where a good quality razor comes in handy. Closer shave equals slower regrowth. Straight razors offer the best shave, but a good double edge safety razor can come pretty close to them if used correctly. Those 2/3/4 blade things are just gimmicks and don't give nearly as close a shave.

I agree. I don't mind paying more for something that's obviously better, but not to just be able to say I was stupid enough to over pay for it.

That's one reason I didn't mind paying more for a quality razor. The blades are much cheaper than the fancy multi-blade ones that don't work as well.

Astounding!  simply astounding what some people will pay....

I suppose as long as there's a market for it huh?...

That's my take on it as well. Who needs a $400 hair brush?

That is one expensive hair brush! I guess it's all in the hair or the bristle of the brush. If they use mink, or some type that's not easy to twist or pull out....that's probably the reason! Naw...I'm a bargain hunter....couldn't afford it!

I don't mind paying more for something if it's worth it and if it's really necessary for me to have. Being a mom I don't do that too often, if at all!LOL!

That's crazy.

I'd rather give the money away than spend it on something so obviously not worth it.

That's just the thing. The materials used to make the brush really aren't anything all that special. It's a fake ivory handle and standard boar bristles. I guess the fact that it's all hand made is supposed to make it worth it. Not to me.

No wonder Trump has that crazy hair. You need a $400 brush to get it that way.

I have a great set of glasses. I hardly paid anything for them, and soon as I finish the last of the jelly, mayonaise, and peanut butter I'll have a matching set.

I think P.T. Barnum said that. Well, him or the guy who invented the Tootsie Pops.
