A bunch of useless crap

Monday morning as I opened the door to climb into the truck Socrates rushed over to look out the door as he often does. I shooed him back as I climbed in but as I was closing the door he rushed back to the door. I halted the swing of the door and pushed him back with my foot. Just as the door was closing he ran over again and his right front paw was caught under the door when it closed.

Naturally he screamed bloody murder. I opened the door to release his paw and he ran to hide, crying the whole time. I left him be for a little while and he eventually came out of hiding to climb into his bed. He was still meowing at me. I was then able to examine his paw. It didn't seem to broken, but I'm sure it hurt like hell.

He is using the paw normally now except for walking. He limps on it so I know it's still pretty sore. He's able to climb and grab with it so I'm confident it'll be ok once the pain subsides.

He does look pretty pitiful limping around though.

He's making a point of staying well clear of the door now.

Poor baby!  Those kittens are fast.  When I open the door to let Sampson in, she can be out on the deck in a second!

At least it doesn't seem that he is blaming you. Now I think he understands the boot ha ha. Just like a child and the stove. You can do your best to keep them from getting burned but it is hard until they burn themselves. Then they understand. Get well soon Socrates

It's so difficult to keep them perfectly safe all the time!  Hugs for Socrates and one for you too M.

It hurts to see animals get hurt!

Maybe he's not hurt at all maybe he's just mocking you as pay back.

Well if he hasn't gotten you yet while you're sleeping then you should be alright. But if you ever step up into your truck, and Socrates is wearing a cowboy hat, cowboy boots with spurs and a holster with a six-shooter looking for the man who hurt his "paw", run Mason run!!!
